Artista Invites Women to Rediscover the Artist Within
Spring 2005
Artista Creative Safaris for Women Begins Spring 2005 ~ Carmel-by-the-Sea, California. Founder, Bev Sanders, describes Artista Creative Safaris as "a summer-camp for grown-up girlswith acrylics instead of finger paints, chardonnay instead of Kool-Aid, and haute cuisine instead of hot dogs.
November 14, 2004 -- The founders of Las Olas Surf Safaris, the world's premier surf adventure exclusively for women, are expanding their unique adventures into the realm of fine art beginning Spring 2005. Artista Creative Safaris will introduce womens inner painter to the inspiring coastline of Northern California, immersing each potential artist in a variety of creative sessions from Color Theory to on-location plein air painting. The six day, all-inclusive safaris include everything needed to escape into Bohemia: art materials and instruction, classic accommodations, all meals, daily yoga, body massage, spa treatments, activities special to the region and late night cafe discussions seeped in art, love, and life.
Las Olas, billed as the "Golden Door of surf camps" by the San Francisco Chronicle, has introduced over a thousand women to surfing. The core of their program is fueled by the philosophy that camaraderie and confidence blossom in a nonjudgmental environment balanced with fun, relaxation, and shared new experiences. Based on this successful model, the Artista curriculum is specifically
designed to inspire women and provide an exhilarating vacation focused on art and nature, breaking for some of the best cuisine and culture California has to offer. Artista guests will lodge at the La Playa Hotel, "The Grande Dame of Carmel-by-the-Sea", a short walk from both the white sand beaches and the galleries and boutiques of Carmel Village.
Inspiration for the new safari surrounds the Las Olas/Artista headquarters, nestled in a live/work artists' community in Northern California where creativity is a way of life.
